It does however have an ample dust bin that doesn't need frequent emptying and a long battery life. Additionally, it has a feature that allows you to schedule cleaning sessions and return to the place the last time it was used, making it easier to clean larger homes. This model is also a great option for pet owners since it is able to identify and eliminate hair tangled and fallen food particles.

However, they aren't able to pick up small particles as well as an upright or canister vacuum, and they may not pick up dirt that is ground-in close to thresholds and baseboards.

We loved its navigation on bare floors and rugs. The Combo i5 has a long runtime and excellent path-planning for the size of the device.

If you're looking for a high-tech vacuum, the Shark AI Ultra 2-in-1 Robot Vacuum & Mop is a great alternative. It comes with a large dock that can last for weeks without needing to be empty. It also has amazing navigation and auto-emptying capabilities on carpets and bare floors. It also has a smart mapping system and can be set to run only during specific times (a beneficial feature to keep pets and children who are prone to mischief from running wild). The Shark isn't as powerful than other robot vacuum/mop combos but it's effective in removing hair and pet hair. It is the best value among our top choices.

Best for Hard Flooring

Robot vacuums are best for floors with hardwood floors because they can navigate around obstacles without causing damage to floors that aren't. They are great at picking up dust and crumbs but struggle with pet hair or other debris. They lack the suction of a high-end canister or upright vacuum, making them unsuitable for deep cleaning upholstery or carpeted areas.

The most effective robots are those that are two-in-one, combining the power of a mop with a vacuum to complete the task in one step. Look for models that have an onboard sensor to detect any changes in the flooring and adjust suction accordingly. A few years ago robotic vacuums experienced an important change.
